Elden Ring Nightreign’s Cord End item does open a door, and we finally know which one

The mystery of Elden Ring Nightreign's vague "Cord End" item has finally been solved, and as its description suggests, it opens a door.

The “Cord End” item in Elden Ring Nightreign had players at a loss ever since the game was released last week, but its mystery has finally been solved. As the Cord End’s description of “Gain entry somewhere” suggests, the item does, in fact, grant you access to a certain in-game area, but now we finally know where.

As discovered by Japanese Elden Ring Nightreign players on X, there is a door hidden in the valley to the northeast of the castle in the center of the map. The door displays a message suggesting only those who are qualified can open it, but if you have the Cord End on you, you’ll be able to open it. Players who’ve ventured beyond the door are rewarded with Sacrificial Twigs.

The Cord End is quite rare and hard to find, but if you’re lucky, you might be able to spot one in a container, on a defeated enemy or on the ground of a church or shrine.

Elden Ring NIGHTREIGN is out now for PC (Steam), PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
